Apply for a workplace-based learning programme

Industry-funded learnerships and apprenticeships — capture and submit the application.

employer

Employers that fund their own learnerships or apprenticeships (industry-funded / workplace-based learning) register them with the FP&M SETA so that the learners can be registered and certificated.

  1. Log in as an Employer and open SDP > Industry-Funded Programmes. The Workplace Application Overview grid lists your applications with the SDL number, trading name, intervention type, learnership and qualification titles, number of employed and unemployed learners, approval SETA, workplace approval status and dates.
  2. Click New Application.
  3. On the Details tab: - Lead Employer Details — type the SDL number and select it; the employer's details populate. If the SDL number is not listed, contact the employer's primary SETA. - Complete or update the Contact Details and an Alternative contact person (one contact must be from the employer). - Learning Interventions Details — select the Intervention Type (learnership or apprenticeship), tick FP&M SETA Learning Unit if the programme is FP&M SETA accredited (untick it if another quality assurance body accredits it), enter the number of Employed and Unemployed learners, and select the Qualification, Learning Programme, Learnership, Training Provider, Accreditation No., Accreditation Review Date and Accrediting Council. - Employer Declaration — tick the workspace and resources declarations.
  4. Click Save. The Supporting Documents and Linked Learners tabs become active.
  5. On Supporting Documents upload the Training Provider Accreditation Document (the signed Performance Agreement is uploaded later, after approval): choose the type, select the file and click Add Document.
  6. Click Submit Application. LMIS shows a Reference Number and e-mails a confirmation.

Next: Sign the performance agreement and add learners.
