Apply for assessor or moderator registration

The five-step registration application.

assessormoderator

After saving your personal details, the tabs Qualification Accreditations, Unit Standard Accreditations, Supporting Documents, Professional Experience and Education Information stay inactive until you are registered. Click Apply for Registration to start the application. Tick dual role if you are applying as both assessor and moderator.

Step 1 — Learning units

  1. Choose Qualifications or Unit Standards with the option buttons (the other fields are disabled).
  2. Search by the learning unit's ID or title and select it. The Start Date and End Date populate from the SAQA registration. For a unit standard, also select the qualification it belongs to.
  3. Click Add Learning Unit. The unit appears in the qualifications or unit standards grid with its application type (first application, re-registration, extension) and learning type (core, fundamental, elective).
  4. Use View US to see a qualification's unit standards and credits, and Delete to remove a unit. Click Next.

Step 2 — Documents

  1. Select the Document Type and the Role (assessor or moderator) the document belongs to.
  2. Click Select File, choose the file and click Add Document. Click Required Documents to see the mandatory list (certified ID, assessor/moderator statement of results or certificate, qualification certificates, CV and so on).
  3. Repeat for each document. The grid shows whether each document is required; Delete removes one. Click Next — LMIS will not continue while required documents are missing.

Step 3 — Professional experience

For each position capture the Job Title, Role Description, Employer Name, Reference Letter (upload), Start Date, Current Role? and End Date, then click Add. Use Edit or Delete on the grid to correct entries. Click Next.

Step 4 — Educational details

For each qualification capture the Qualification Title, Institution Name, NQF Level and Year Obtained, tick the box confirming that the certificate was uploaded in Step 2, and click Add. Click Next.

Step 5 — Verify and submit

  1. Review the summary. Use Back or click a step to correct anything.
  2. Read the Code of Conduct and tick the acknowledgement, then tick the declaration.
  3. Click Submit Application and confirm with Yes. LMIS shows the reference number in red and e-mails a submission confirmation.

After you submit

  • The application is allocated to an evaluator for a compliance check. If more information is needed you receive a feedback e-mail — log in, update the application and resubmit.
  • When the QA team completes the review, a registration results e-mail with the assessor/moderator report is sent to you. Follow progress on your Dashboard and on your Assessor Profile.
