provider

Open SDP > Enrolments Overview. The page lets you enrol and exit learners and maintain their personal details and learning units. The tabs across the top are Learner, Qualifications, Unit Standards, Skills Programs, Learnerships and Classes.

Find or add a learner

  • Click Search Learner, enter the ID number and click Search, then Select to open the profile.
  • Click Enrol New Learner to capture a learner who is not yet on LMIS: complete the personal details and contact details and click Save. A green success message confirms the profile.
  • Use the column filters on the Learner grid to find learners already linked to your provider; View opens a profile and Edit lets you amend it.

Qualification enrolment

On the learner profile open the Qualification tab. Select the Qualification (and learning programme), enter the Enrolment Date, Achievement Date, Achievement Type, Achievement Status, Assessor ID and Moderator ID, then click Add. The grid shows total and achieved credits; Edit amends a row.

Unit standard enrolment

On the Unit Standards tab select the Qualification and Unit Standard, the dates, achievement type and status, assessor and moderator IDs, and click Add.

Learnership enrolment

On the Learnerships tab enter the Learnership ID, OFO code, Financial Year, Start and End Date, Competent?, Completed?, Funded?, Registration No, Contract No and Training type (FET/HET/N/A), then click Add.

Classes

A class groups learners on the same learning units.

  1. On the Classes tab click Create New Class. Choose Qualification or Skills Program, then the qualification, learning programme, elective unit standards, learnership, Contract Number, credits, rural/urban indicator, achievement type and status, and the assessor and moderator IDs. Click Add.
  2. The class appears in the Classes grid with a class number and class size. Click Enrol Class, search each learner by ID number and click Enrol Learner; close the window when done.
  3. Class Export downloads the class to Excel. Class Site Visit sends the whole class to the SETA for a site visit (see Record achievements and prepare for site visits).
Note

Register learners with their National ID exactly as it appears on the ID document (passport for foreign nationals). LMIS validates South African IDs against Home Affairs; learners that fail validation are flagged Not verified and cannot be certificated until corrected. Bulk enrolments can be loaded by the SETA from the Learner Bulk Upload Template.
