Apply for provider accreditation
The seven-step accreditation application.
After activating your account and logging in as a new Training Provider, LMIS opens the accreditation application. Work through the steps in order; Next only becomes available when a step is complete, and you can click a step name to go back.
Step 1 — Training provider details
Complete the provider's legal and trading names, registration numbers, contact details, addresses and the accrediting SETA, then click Save. Missing compulsory fields are highlighted in red. If you select a SETA other than FP&M, you must also upload an MOU Request Letter.
Step 2 — QMS
Tick each Quality Management System item that your organisation has in place (policies, procedures, review templates and so on), or click Select All. All items must be ticked to proceed.
Step 3 — Programme scope
Capture the learning units you want to be accredited for. Choose one option at a time; the other fields are disabled.
- Full Qualification — type the qualification ID or title in Qualification, click Choose Electives, tick electives until the minimum credits (SAQA rules of combination) are met and click Add Learning Unit. To link a Learning Programme, enter its ID or title together with the qualification.
- Unit Standards — select the unit standard and the qualification it is linked to, then click Add Learning Unit.
- Skills Programs — enter the skills programme name and its linked qualification, click Choose SP Unit Standards, tick the unit standards and click Add Learning Unit.
Each grid lists the learning units added with their start and end dates and learning type (core, fundamental, elective). Use View US to see a qualification's unit standards and credits, and Delete to remove a unit.
Step 4 — ETD staff
For each qualification or unit standard in your scope, enter the Assessor ID Number and Moderator ID Number of your constituent assessor and moderator and click Save; the names populate from their FP&M SETA registration. At the bottom of the page add Facilitators per learning programme (enter or search the facilitator's ID number and click Add Facilitator).
Step 5 — Satellite offices and delivery sites
Capture each satellite office (Site Name, Tel No., Physical Address, Postal Code — the province populates automatically) and click Add. Open Programme Offering for a site to move qualifications and unit standards from Available to Offered at that site. Then add the Delivery Sites and click Next.
Step 6 — Documents
Upload each document: choose the Document Type, click Select Files, add a Comment if needed and click Add Document. The document types are grouped as:
| Section | Documents |
|---|---|
| 1. Company documentation | CIPC document, tax clearance certificate, occupational health and safety audit report, confirmation of bank, audited financial statements, auditor details, training venue, public liability insurance, business plan |
| 2. Quality management systems | All required policies and procedures (signed and dated, with next review date), minutes of meetings, review templates |

Step 7 — Verify information
Review the full application. Tick the declaration and click Submit Application, then Yes to confirm. LMIS shows the application reference number in red and e-mails a confirmation. The application then enters evaluation; follow its progress on your Dashboard. If the evaluator needs more information you receive a feedback e-mail — log in, update the application and resubmit.
